Job Description

 

Reports To: Building and Grounds Supervisor

 

Terms of Employment: 12 Months

 

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or equivalent.  

A minimum of one year of relevant work experience.

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Directors may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Purpose:  Keeps Brevard Academy a clean environment so that all students, staff, and the community are assured of clean, safe, attractive, and healthy places in which to learn and work.

Abilities/Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to reason, make judgments, and maintain effective professional working relationships with others.
• Ability to utilize positive human relations skills with all staff, parents, and students.
• Ability to resolve problem situations with sound judgment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in matters relating to Brevard Academy-A Challenge Foundation Academy.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing work assignments. 
• Ability to lift/move 50 pounds

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Strives to fulfill the mission and vision of Brevard Academy- A Challenge Foundation Academy.
• Maintains compliance with all policies and/or rules governing Brevard Academy-A Challenge Foundation Academy in relation to assigned area of responsibility.
• Maintains internal building cleanliness.  Scrub, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean restrooms; wash windows and walls; remove trash and participate in other cleaning/disinfecting actions to help keep the building interior clean and healthful.  
• Notify and assist the School Director and/or Board of Directors and appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency and potentially dangerous or unusual situations.

 

Additional Job Functions:

 

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

 

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Directors’ policy on evaluation of non-certified personnel.
